Wharton Music Center Presents Meet the Orchestra—Woodwinds At Morris Museum
Wharton Music Center presents the first of its Meet the Orchestra Series focusing on the woodwind section on Sunday, December 1 at 1:00 p.m. at Morris Museum located at 6 Normandy Heights Road in Morristown. Designed to introduce children to different sections of the orchestra, Meet the Orchestra is sponsored in part by the Summit Area Public Foundation. The concert is free and open to the public.
The concert features the New Jersey Youth Symphony Woodwind Quintet, wind students of New Jersey Youth Symphony (NJYS) who have been specially selected for their musical achievements. The quintet includes Isabel
Kaspriskie, Horn; Kevin Lieu, Clarinet; Graham Deubner, Bassoon; Ethan Whang, Oboe; and Melissa Danitz, Flute. The woodwind quintet, under the direction of Dr. Bärli Nugent of the Juilliard School, will perform and invite audience members to touch and explore the instruments as well as ask questions of the NJYS students.
The next performance of the Meet the Orchestra Series—Meet the Strings—at the Morris Museum is Saturday, December 14 at 12:30 p.m. and features the New Jersey Youth Symphony String Quartet.
