The 33rd Annual Mountain Art Show
The Church of St. John on the Mountain, 379 Mt. Harmony Road, Bernardsville, NJ
The Church of St. John on the Mountain’s 33rd Mountain Art Show continues as a premier local exhibition and sale of artwork by both regional and nationally recognized artists. The Juried Show is the focal point of the exhibit and sale, showcasing outstanding quality and a variety of works in all media. The Small Treasure section offers original framed art priced at $300 and under, and unframed Portfolio pieces are available at very affordable prices. The featured artist this year is Tim Gaydos, a master pastelist, who has won over 200 awards and was commissioned by NJ Transit to create two murals for the Morristown train station entitled Eastbound/Westbound. Proceeds from the Mountain Art Show each year directly benefit the church and its outreach programs. The show is open every day from 10 am to 5pm. Local Animal Rescue Group Schedules Pet Adoption Fair

Summit Animal Rescue Association today announced the organization’s 4th Annual Pet Adoption Fair. The purpose of this event is to generate awareness about Summit Animal Rescue Association and to raise funds to help continue their mission.
The fair is scheduled for Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Sat.) and October 20, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Sun.) at Parker Gardens – 1325 Terrill Road Scotch Plains, NJ 07076. The event is open to the general public. There will be a number of cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, and guinea pigs (Sat only) for adoption. There is no entrance fee to attend this event.
Attractions at the fair include, but are not limited to:

Summit Animal Rescue Association, Inc. (SARA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization located in Berkeley Heights, NJ. Their mission is to rescue cats, dogs, or any animal in need, give them medical attention, rehabilitate them, and provide a temporary, loving environment until permanent homes are found. Adoptions are held weekly at Petco in Watchung and Old Bridge. Pet Valu in Garwood and Gillette on Saturdays. In addition, SARA assists NJ residents with low-cost resources to apsy and neuter feral cats in order to reduce the number of unwanted kittens in shelters. SARA has a proven track record for saving lives. Through tireless efforts they have found homes for over 4,000 animals since they began over 10 years ago. SARA’s entire staff is made up of volunteers, working in tandem with veterinarians who assist with discounted rates. 100% of all donations raised go directly to the care and feeding of the animals saved.
